• Engine and Performance

  Compared to the regular Ace Gold, the Tata Ace HT+ offers a bigger two-cylinder, 800cc diesel engine, which claims to offer better performance and added power. Coupled to a 5-speed manual gearbox, this engine produces 35.4 PS of maximum power output and 85 Nm of peak torque output, figures which are almost double those of the smaller Ace Gold.

  Summary

  While the engine of the Ace HT+ is only 100cc bigger than the engine of the Ace Gold, it offers significantly better power and torque outputs.

• Suspension and Brakes

  The Ace Gold already has a capable suspension setup, which makes it a reliable and rugged workhorse despite its compact size. Tata has chosen not to fiddle with the original formula, which is why it has chosen the same suspension combination of a parabolic leaf spring at the front and a semi-elliptical leaf spring at the rear for the Ace HT+. However, the Ace HT+ gets bigger wheels and tyres, with the 13-inch steel wheels wrapped with 155 R13 tyres on all four corners. The compact commercial truck claims a wheelbase of 2,250mm and ground clearance of 160mm. • Exterior

  Compared to the Ace Gold on which it is based, which gets rounded design themes, the Ace HT+ looks slightly sharper and more evolved than the former. The front looks slightly more mature with angular headlamps, which are larger and come with turn indicators integrated into their upper edges. The grille, which covers the entire front area between the headlamps, is segmented into four parts, with the Tata logo in the middle.

• Interior

  The cabin of the Tata Ace HT+ looks wider and slightly better looking with its all-light grey theme for the dashboard. The Ace HT+ gets a centrally-placed instrument console, which is positioned above the centre console, while there is nothing behind the three-spoke steering wheel. While the centre console gets rectangular AC vents, the dashboard corners get rounded ones.

  Summary

  The centrally-placed instrument console in the Tata Ace HT+ is something which is not so common among commercial vehicles.

• Features

  The Tata Ace HT+ has a very basic-looking and equipped cabin, which gets only the bare-basic essentials like manual air conditioning, a lockable glovebox on the co-passenger side and a compact centrally-placed instrument console with a fully-digital layout. The cabin also gets a large centre console between the front seats, which gets the transmission lever mounted on it. 

  Summary

  The cabin of the Tata Ace HT+ has a bare basic appeal, but it gets a couple of decent features like a centrally-placed digital instrument console and manual air conditioner.
