Leading and critically acclaimed commercial three-wheeler manufacturer, Omega Seiki Mobility (OSM) and Agri Junction, a digital e-commerce brand based on agricultural products, has joined hands for a strategic partnership under which they will work towards deploying more than 10,000 electric two and three-wheelers in rural markets by FY23.
It has been stated by the two companies that in the first phase, Omega Seiki Mobility and Agri Junction will be introducing electric vehicles (EV) in tier II and Tier III markets of UP and Maharashtra which have a fair share of sales of the electric vehicles in the country.
Omega Seiki has also mentioned to the media that it will be offering its existing cargo electric vehicle range which includes, Rage+, Rage+ Rapid, Rage+ Rapid Pro, Rage+ Frost and Rage+ Swap apart from the deployment of electric passengers vehicles, electric two-wheelers and tractors among others.

In this regard, Uday Narang, founder and chairman, of Omega Seiki Mobility, said that the two brands are planning on accelerating the rate of adoption of electric vehicles in the rural markets. To facilitate this, they are planning on building EV-based infrastructure in the rural market. Further, by combining Agri Junction’s expertise, Omega Seiki will be deploying specialized electric vehicles to enhance EV adoption.
“Our collaboration with Agri Junction is a major step in this direction. Omega Seiki Mobility and Agri Junction will together build infrastructure in the rural markets. Agri Junction has vast experience working in rural markets, we are working together to develop specialised electric vehicles using this knowledge. We will make sure to improve EV adoption in these markets.” Narang added.

It has been noted that Omega Seiki Mobility will be presenting its product portfolio on the website of Agri Junction and will be providing access to credit through PM Mudra Yojna. Furthermore, with the help of dealers, they will set up EV infrastructure and create awareness across rural sectors which includes farmers, small businesses and people at large.
Also, it has been mentioned in several media reports that Omega Seiki Mobility is conducting research and development for constructing its electric tractor. They are using their facility in Korea and Thailand to develop e-tractors which will be offered as a service and leasing for the Tier II and III markets by 2023.
