The Piaggio Ape Auto DXL comes equipped with a proven 597.7 cc, Water Cooled Diesel Engine which is BS6 compliant. This powerful engine offers 7 kW (9.39 hp) of maximum power at around 3600 rpm and 23.5 Nm of peak torque somewhere between 2200 rpm.

This engine of the Ape Auto DXL is mated to a smooth-shifting Constant Mesh 5-speed (5 Forward + 1 Reverse) gearbox. The engine and gearbox are linked to each other by a Multi Disc Wet Type clutch setup.

The Ape Auto DXL from Piaggio comes out of the factory equipped with a Hydraulically Actuated Internal Expanding Shoe Type Drum Brake system for superior braking performance and maximum stopping power in the event of an emergency.
