Isuzu Motors India Emerges as the Top Exporter of CVs in FY2024-25

Isuzu Motors India has carved out a significant achievement in the Indian automotive industry, claiming the top spot as the leading exporter of commercial vehicles (CVs) from India for the financial year 2024-25. With 20,312 units shipped overseas, the company registered a remarkable 24% year-on-year growth compared to 16,329 units in the previous fiscal year.

This milestone isn’t a one-off. Isuzu Motors India (IMI) has consistently ranked among the top three CV exporters recently, gradually building its position through steady progress and strategic expansion. At the heart of this growth lies its state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Sri City, Andhra Pradesh, which caters to both left-hand drive and right-hand drive markets.

From this hub, vehicles are being exported to a wide swath of countries across Asia and the Middle East—Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman, and Jordan among them. Isuzu has successfully transformed India into a strategic export base, not just serving domestic demand but also meeting international standards and expectations.

Highlighting the significance of this achievement, Rajesh Mittal, President & Managing Director of Isuzu Motors India, said, “This milestone reinforces the strength of ISUZU’s global manufacturing philosophy—Isuzu Monozukuri. Every vehicle we produce in India is built to the same global standards that define the ISUZU brand worldwide.” He also credited the Sri City plant’s dedicated workforce for their role in maintaining world-class quality across each vehicle.

Toru Kishimoto, Deputy Managing Director, echoed similar sentiments, noting, “This strong export performance is a testament to the world-class quality, reliability, and performance of our vehicles, made in India.” He emphasized that the consistent increase in export volumes points to growing global confidence in Indian-made products.

This accomplishment comes close on the heels of another major milestone—the rollout of the 100,000th vehicle from the Sri City plant, a clear indicator of the company’s long-term vision for the Indian market. The facility itself stands as a symbol of modern manufacturing excellence, spread over 107 acres and equipped to handle a robust production line, including recent additions like a press shop and engine assembly unit.

While the company continues to strengthen its global footprint, it hasn’t taken its eyes off the domestic market. IMI has been actively growing its network of dealerships, now present in over 90 locations, to ensure better accessibility and service for its Indian customer base.

With models like the ISUZU D-MAX V-Cross, Hi-Lander, mu-X SUV, and purpose-built vehicles like the AIS-125 Type C Ambulance, Isuzu is steadily building a strong and diverse product portfolio. The brand continues to bank on its promise of reliability, performance, and value—a combination that resonates both in India and abroad.

In every sense, this latest export milestone is more than just a number. It is a testament to the rising trust in Indian manufacturing and Isuzu’s unwavering focus on quality and consistency—true to their spirit of “Never Stop.”
