Hyundai Revealed Electric 3- and 4-Wheeler Concepts at Auto Expo 2025

New Delhi — At the recently concluded Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, held from January 17 to 22 in Delhi and Greater Noida, Hyundai Motor Company lifted the curtain on two groundbreaking micro-mobility concepts—an electric three-wheeler and a compact four-wheeler. And while the vehicles themselves were eye-catching, it was the broader strategy behind them that truly sparked conversation.

Hyundai’s entry into this space isn’t just about mobility—it’s about reshaping it. Designed with Indian cities and rural communities in mind, these micro-electric vehicles are aimed squarely at solving the challenges of last-mile connectivity. But here's the twist: Hyundai isn't going it alone.

The South Korean auto giant revealed it's exploring a strategic partnership with TVS Motor Company, one of India’s leading two- and three-wheeler manufacturers. Under this potential collaboration, Hyundai would handle design, engineering, and cutting-edge tech integration, while TVS would take charge of production and market distribution—bringing to life a new generation of Hyundai commercial vehicles for the Indian subcontinent.

“Collaborating with TVS Motor, we aim to locally produce the three-wheeler while exploring global opportunities for the four-wheeler, blending intuitive functionality with the spirit of a rapidly innovating India,” said SangYup Lee, Executive Vice President and Head of Hyundai and Genesis Global Design.

The Hyundai three wheeler, proposed for local production through this collaboration, is being developed with both urban maneuverability and rural resilience in mind. Meanwhile, the compact four-wheeler—equally futuristic but still under review—signals Hyundai’s broader ambitions in the micro-mobility segment, both in India and beyond.

Sharad Mishra, President of Group Strategy at TVS, echoed this sentiment during the event.

“By combining Hyundai Motor’s global expertise with our deep understanding of mobility solutions, we aim to develop next-generation micro-mobility solutions that redefine last-mile connectivity,” Mishra said. He added with confidence, “With a shared vision, we are confident that this partnership under discussion will deliver impactful solutions that set new standards in design, engineering, technology, and quality.”

This announcement arrives at a time when India’s demand for compact, clean-energy commercial vehicles is growing rapidly. Whether it’s navigating tight city lanes or crossing rugged village roads, Hyundai’s new concepts are being designed to do more—with less.
