PMI Expands Its Reach: Electric Buses Now in 27 Indian Cities

PMI Electro Mobility, India's largest electric bus manufacturer and fleet operator, has achieved a significant milestone by becoming the first company to deliver electric buses in Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh, in its continued efforts towards clean and sustainable transportation.

The Hon’ble Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, Sh Sukhvinder Singh “Sukhu”, flagged off the electric buses in Dharamshala, marking a momentous step towards the electrification of public transportation in the state.

Under the contract, PMI Electro Mobility will provide 50 electric buses to Himachal Road Transport Corporation for Dharamshala and maintain them for a period of 10 years, resulting in an overall reduction of 14,000 tons of CO₂ over the contract term. Each PMI electric bus can save 28,000 kg of CO₂ every year.

Chairman at PMI Electro Mobility, Mr. Satish Jain, expressed his pride in delivering 15 electric buses in Dharamshala, taking the total count of PMI buses in Himachal Pradesh to 65. Dedicating these buses to the state, Mr. Jain said, "PMI is committed to providing world-class electric buses with advanced features such as air suspension, real-time monitoring system through CCTV cameras, pre-emptive diagnostics, and more, through their indigenous technology. PMI will operate and manage these buses with tech-enabled electric bus depots for efficient running of buses to provide citizens of Dharamshala with reliable services".

Elaborating their impact in the state, he shared, "With these electric buses, the state will be able to avoid over 1,800 tons of CO₂ emissions every year, thus contributing to the clean energy revolution in India and making a positive impact on the environment".

PMI's entry into Dharamshala has strengthened its foothold in Himachal Pradesh, where the company has already established a presence by providing and managing a fleet of 50 electric buses in Shimla. Furthermore, PMI has become the only electric bus manufacturer to have a presence in 26 cities nationwide, which highlights the company's commitment to aiding state governments in their pursuit of sustainable transportation goals.
