BEST's luxury bus Chalo to expand fleet by 44% amid growing demand

Chalo, the luxury bus service operating under license from BEST, has seen a 50% commuter growth over the last three months. There was an average of 10,000 daily commuters on weekdays. Due to this increase in demand Chalo has decided to expand its fleet by 44%. The bus service has also decided to add new luxury AC buses taking their increased network of buses to 144.

The new expansion by Chalo will help get more trips on popular routes like Belapur-Colaba, Thane-Andheri, Thane-BKC, and Navi Mumbai-BKC. Passengers travelling on these routes can expect a bump in daily trips, with increases ranging from 15% to 40%. The Belapur-Colaba route, connecting Navi Mumbai to Colaba via the new MTHL-Atal Setu and Eastern Freeway, has seen explosive popularity. Keeping in mind of the popularity of this route, BEST has increased trips on this route by 50%

Mohit Dubey, CEO of Chalo shared "With the introduction of new travel plans and fleet expansion, Chalo will be adding new all-day and weekend routes as well which will provide seamless and affordable public transport experience across Mumbai".

Chalo's monthly travel plans have also gained traction among commuters, offering convenience and flexibility with options ranging from 10 to 45 trips. The 45-trip plan remains the most popular, followed by the 25-trip plan. In response to public demand, Chalo has introduced route-specific passes, which have been well-received by customers.
