Ashok Leyland wins order for 2104 fully built buses from MSRTC

Ashok Leyland, India’s leading commercial vehicle manufacturer received the single largest fully built bus order from Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation to deliver 2104 units of Viking passenger buses. This new bus order will further boost the company’s position in the bus Industry.

The new buses built will be compliant with the CMVR standards. Along with this, the buses will have many more features like the AIS 153-compliant body and its powerful 197 HP H-Series Engine. The fully built buses will have advanced iGEN6 BS VI OBD II technology and rear air suspension. Ashok Leyland will deliver these buses within a time frame of one year between August 2024 to August 2025.

The order for the new buses will be completed at the manufacturing facilities in Alwar and Ennore. MSRTC has more than 15000 buses in its fleet and is one of the largest state transport entities in the country.

Viking Passenger Bus

Viking Passenger Bus has been a popular passenger vehicle in India for a long time. The bus has been specially designed keeping in mind the Indian road conditions. The optimized power and torque produced by the bus help it get better mileage on Indian roads. There are various features added in the bus like the direct drive A.C compressor that helps get better alignment and belt life for the vehicle. The bus has four bellow air suspension at the rear side that provides comfort on a long ride.
