Tata Motors delivers electric buses to Jammu Smart City for green urban transport

Tata Motors, India's largest commercial vehicle manufacturer, has delivered Ultra EV air-conditioned electric buses to Jammu Smart City Limited through TML Smart City Mobility Solutions (J&K) Pvt Ltd, a Tata Motors Group company. This eco-friendly initiative aims to establish an environmentally sustainable public transportation system in Jammu.

The Tata Motors electric buses are manufactured in India using advanced technology. They offer emission-free and noiseless travel. These buses are designed for safety, comfort, and convenience. These buses contribute to Jammu's efforts to provide reliable and zero-emission intra-city commuting solutions. The new electric buses are part of a larger order to supply, maintain, and operate 100 electric buses in Srinagar and 100 in Jammu. This order is for a 12-year period as part of the Jammu and Srinagar Smart City projects.

The event was inaugurated by Hon’ble Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation, Govt of India, Amit Shah. There was also presence of Hon’ble Minister of Heavy Industries, Govt of India, Dr. Mahendra Nath Pandey, and Hon'ble Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha. The event witnessed the participation of distinguished dignitaries, including Hon’ble Member of Parliament, Shri Jugal Kishore Sharma, Gulam Ali Khatana, Ajay Bhalla (IAS), Home Secretary Govt of India, Atal Dulloo (IAS), Chief Secretary Jammu and Kashmir, Mandeep Kaur (IAS), Commissioner Secretary H&UDD, J&K, along with other Administrative Secretaries and delegates from the Government of J&K, Municipal Corporation Jammu, Jammu Smart City Ltd, and representatives from Tata Motors.
