• Motor and Performance

  As mentioned before, the Mahindra Treo comes equipped with a new powerful AC induction motor that has the highest power of 8 kW and 42 Nm torque available in its segment. The e-rickshaw is powered by advanced Lithium-ion technology and features that offer higher savings, superior ride quality and best-in-class battery capacity and range. 

  It is also considered as a last-mile people connectivity-based vehicle that is efficient in terms of performance. Therefore, it is a vehicle that has an ample amount of power to climb steep terrain efficiently even with luggage and passengers onboard. The vehicle also comes equipped with efficient manual steering that not only lessens the steering effort but also makes manoeuvring the vehicle much easier.

• Suspension and Brakes

  The Mahindra Treo comes fitted with a helical spring integrated dampener and hydraulic shock absorber in the front while the rear comes fitted with a rigid axle leaf spring setup. They perform extremely well under tension and provide decent comfort for the driver and passengers. The suspension is set on the stiffer side to absorb bumps and impact from potholes. Such a setup does provide decent ride quality but the downside of a stiff suspension setup is the constant thud and vibration that creeps in when encountering shallow potholes. High-speed stability is also not the strongest point of this vehicle. Since it is a light vehicle, the stability at high speeds goes for a toss. However, the vehicle is easy to handle at lower speeds. 

  As for the brakes, the Treo comes with hydraulic as well as mechanical braking components depending on the variant of choice. Both the braking system functions efficiently in dry and wet weather conditions.

  The suspension setup of the vehicle is quite decent as it provides good comfort. The brakes function efficiently even in wet weather conditions.

  The Mahindra Treo measures 2769mm x 995mm x 1750mm (length x width x height in mm) and gets a wheelbase of 2073 mm. Also, the minimum ground clearance of the vehicle is rated at 142mm which is quite good when compared to its rivals.
