Throwback to Auto Expo 2024: Eicher’s Debut of First Electric Small Commercial Vehicle

Eicher Trucks and Buses, a division of VE Commercial Vehicles (VECV), marked a significant milestone on February 2, 2024, by unveiling its first electric vehicle (EV) in the small commercial vehicle (SCV) segment at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2024. 

Key Highlights of the Launch

  • Eicher's new SCV range is designed primarily for urban and peri-urban distribution, with the goal of improving last-mile logistics.
  • Eicher also  plans to introduce models powered by CNG and diesel, broadening the range of eco-friendly options for its customers.

Strategic Vision

Vinod Aggarwal, Managing Director and CEO of VECV, emphasized the  potential of the SCV segment  He stated that Eicher's upcoming range is poised to play a pivotal role in this transformation with its "Pro Business, Pro Planet" approach, reaffirming the company's commitment to providing cutting-edge solutions crucial for sustainable growth of India.

Manufacturing and Support Infrastructure

The new SCV range is being designed and developed in India, with manufacturing set to take place at Eicher's facility in Bhopal. All Eicher vehicles will feature 100% connectivity through an innovative Uptime Centre, to ensure premium aftermarket experience,  leveraging artificial intelligence for remote diagnostics to minimize downtime. These trucks will deliver valuable performance insights as they will be integrated with the 'My Eicher' fleet management system. Eicher's extensive support network comprises over 850 touchpoints, including more than 425 authorized service centers and 8,000 retail centers, complemented by 'Eicher Site Support' at 240 locations.
