Tata Motors sells 229,891 units in Q1 FY 25

Tata Motors released the sales report with a total of 229,891 units in the International and domestic market for Q1 FY 2024-25.

Total CV Sales

The CV sales figure stood at 91209 units which is a 6% increase from the previous year when 85,795 units were sold.

The domestic CV sales figures for June are 30,623 units which is lower than the 33,148 units sold for the same period last year.

Looking at category-wise data for CV, HCV trucks saw a decline of 8% with 8891 units sold on June 24 as compared to 9625 units sold on June 23. ILMCV trucks segment saw a growth of 6% with 4997 units sold on June 24 as compared to 4723 units sold on June 23. Passenger Carriers saw a growth of 18% with 5654 units sold on June 24 as compared to 4810 units on June 23. SCV cargo and pickup segment faced a decline of 21% as 11081 units were sold in comparison to 13990 units sold on June 23.

Mr. Girish Wagh, Executive Director, Tata Motors Ltd. Remained hopeful of a good monsoon season and better government policies which would eventually increase demand for commercial vehicles.

Total PV Sales

The sales figure stood at 138,682 units which is a decrease of 1%  from the previous year when 85,795 units were sold.

Speaking about the performance Mr. Shailesh Chandra, Managing Director, Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd. and Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd highlighted the increase in demand in April due to festival season in the country. There was a decline in the passenger Vehicle Industry in May and June due to general elections and heat waves.

The expiry of the FAME II subsidy in March 2024 impacted the electric vehicle industry. In the future, Mr. Chandra expects an increase in demand and more inquiries in future.
