The brand stated that the transition will begin with the 'Tata Yodha range’ which has become quite popular since its introduction.
In this regard, Rajesh Kaul, Vice President of Sales & Marketing, Commercial Vehicles mentioned that “Electrification of our pickups as part of our overall journey of decarbonisation is a certainty to which we cannot certainly say no to.”

However, he did mention that "pickups too will be electrified in due course” based on customer requirements and other aspects like rate of infrastructure development, availability of technology etc. "We want our electrification journey to coincide with the development of the ecosystem so that the customer can get the full benefits of lower costs that an EV can offer as against ICE. This will take a while but we are committed to the larger goal," Kaul added.
Further, regarding the possibilities of electrification of the Intra V50 range, he stated that conventional and alternate fuels such as CNG are what they are focusing on right now with regards to the Intra V50 range since the vehicle has the potential to take on hilly and mountainous regions where charging infrastructure is yet to come up.
