In an exclusive interview with 91trucks, Rohit Srivastava, Chief Growth Officer at EKA Mobility, shared the company’s ambitious vision of becoming a global leader in electric vehicles (EVs). With a focus on every segment of commercial vehicles, EKA Mobility is on a mission to redefine transportation through sustainable, innovative, and customer-centric solutions.
He said, “EKA Mobility is steadfast in its goal of being a global volume leader across all commercial vehicle categories”.
This vision was on full display at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2025, where the company unveiled a range of trucks, from 55-tonne to 7-tonne commercial vehicles, addressing both passenger and goods transportation needs in smaller segments.
Additionally, he mentioned that EKA Mobility offers a wide range of buses, including 7-meter, 9-meter, and 12-meter models, designed for applications such as coaches, low-floor urban transport, and sleeper buses. Emphasizing comfort, safety, and premium interiors, these buses aim to set new standards for passenger satisfaction.
Rohit highlighted how partnerships with global giants in the automotive industry have accelerated EKA’s progress. These collaborations provide governance, and access to new technology, and ensure market-ready products with refined features.
The company’s innovation roadmap also includes plans to introduce articulated buses in India, expanding the scope of urban mobility solutions.
“EKA Mobility is not just about manufacturing vehicles; it aims to create a complete EV ecosystem. This includes a network of workshops and services, made accessible through partnerships with startups. For instance, these initiatives ensure that customers have support near their locations, fostering seamless EV adoption.”, he said
Rohit dismissed range anxiety concerns for EV buses, explaining that depot-based chargers make the transition smooth. For trucks, he highlighted early adopters in urban areas benefiting from existing charging infrastructure. On highways, the government’s active installation of charging stations will further enable long-haul EV trucking.
Small commercial vehicles (SCVs) from EKA Mobility come equipped with AC and DC charging options, allowing users to charge conveniently at home. The company is also working on making SCVs grid-independent by exploring solar charging options, showcasing their commitment to clean and sustainable solutions.
Rohit confidently stated that EVs covering 400 kilometers daily are not only feasible but also more economical compared to fuel-powered vehicles. Each EKA vehicle is tailored for specific applications and market demands, ensuring maximum efficiency and customer satisfaction.
When asked to define EKA Mobility in three words, Rohit summarized it as “Passion, Clean, and Environment-friendly Mobility”.
With gratitude, he acknowledged the Indian government’s support and schemes that have facilitated the growth of the EV sector.
