JBM Ecolife Mobility Gathers a Massive Order for 1021 E-Buses under PM e-Bus Sewa Scheme-2

19 February 2025 in New Delhi: As part of the ambitious PM e-Bus Sewa Scheme-2, the Indian government has placed a record order for 1,021 electric buses with JBM Ecolife Mobility Pvt Ltd., a division of JBM Auto Limited. This is a huge step forward for sustainable transportation in India. This deal, which is valued at around Rs 5,500 crore, strengthens JBM's position as the leading electric mobility company and speeds up India's plan for environmentally friendly public transportation. These buses will be deployed in the major states like  Haryana, Gujarat, Maharashtra and 19 other states across the country.

Taking charge of the project, JBM Ecolife Mobility has planned to deploy, operate, and maintain the electric buses without a hitch. A strong Payment Security Mechanism (PSM) will be implemented in the project, which solidifies that the electric bus operators can continue to operate and they have financial stability and that there is a steady flow of funds. There is no denying the environmental impact of these e-buses. In the next 12 years, these buses are expected to reduce carbon emissions by more than 1 billion metric tons while covering an incredible 32 billion passenger kilometers.

Over the past decade, JBM Auto has achieved great amount of success in the field of public transportation, and the company has big plans for the future. In the next three to four years, it aims to transport over 20 billion passengers in a secure, comfortable, and futuristic manner, covering 3 billion electric kilometers.

Approximately 2,000 electric buses are in operation throughout the African continent, Europe, the Middle East, and India, according to JBM Auto. Its overall order book now surpasses an impressive 11,000 electric buses in various stages of execution, thanks to this recent order. With a stunning yearly production capacity of 20,000 buses, the company also has the world's largest dedicated integrated electric bus manufacturing facility outside of China, which is conveniently positioned in Delhi-NCR.

Not only does this landmark deal solidify JBM's position as the industry leader in electric vehicles, but it also advances India's objective of creating a public transportation system that is both energy efficient and environmentally responsible.
