  1. No requirement for a degree: 

First and foremost, you do not need a college degree to become a truck driver. However, in India, to become a truck driver, there is a requirement for the applicant to pass the 8th standard bare minimum. To become a truck driver, you do not need any other special certification. All you would require to do is pass the CDL test. Compared to attaining a college degree, passing a CDL test is a piece of cake.  

  1. The benefit of stable income: 

As you may know, truck drivers are always required to transport goods and products to the market from the manufacturer. So, you need not worry about not getting employed by a trucking company as there are plenty of vacancies. However, you need to look through many aspects such as the age of the company and reliability factors to have a secure job. Moreover, if you have the experience and work ethic, you need not worry about not getting hired. 

  1. Per day driving limits: 

If you are a truck driver working for a trucking company or last mile logistics in India, you might get offered a positive work-life balance. By this, we mean that some companies are ready to offer time limits you need to be on road. This means that as a trucker, you will have enough time to rest each day. Having enough time to rest will ensure that you will have a healthy work-life balance. 

A trucker life in short: 

A typical day for a truck driver in India begins with breakfast. The driver would then pack food for later and step out to conduct a quick inspection like the tyre condition and engine oil level among others. Next, the driver will check the dispatch details and take a look at the destination address. Then the driver will wait for the warehouse workers to load the goods that need to be transported. Finally, he starts driving to reach the destination to deliver the goods.
