Eicher Motors Accelerates: Commercial Vehicle Sales Surge 9% YoY in February

Eicher Motors, a dominant force in the commercial vehicle (CV) industry, reported a solid 9% year-on-year (YoY) increase in CV sales for February 2025, reflecting sustained demand and resilience in the market. The company sold 8,092 units, driven primarily by domestic demand and a remarkable surge in exports.

Breaking it down, domestic sales climbed 6.2%, reaching 7,357 units, while exports skyrocketed 74.7% YoY, totaling 552 units. Notably, sales of Volvo trucks and buses, part of Eicher's joint venture with Volvo Group, also saw a modest 2.8% increase, with 183 units sold.

This upward trajectory follows a stellar performance in January, when Eicher Motors recorded 20.14% YoY growth in CV sales, selling 8,489 units. Domestic sales had then expanded 21.05% to 7,872 units, while exports had surged 26.76% to 450 units. However, in contrast to February’s gains, Volvo truck and bus sales had dipped 19.71% in January, settling at 167 units.

Industry-Wide Growth in Commercial Vehicles

The commercial vehicle market as a whole is witnessing an upward trend. Another key player, SML Isuzu, reported a 27.5% YoY increase in February sales, selling 1,288 units, up from 1,010 units a year ago. Within this, cargo vehicle sales climbed 15.3% (468 units).
