Daewoo marks a comeback in India with automotive batteries

Daewoo, a Korean brand that made its entry in the late 90's is making its comeback in Indian automotive market with special focus on automotive battery market.

Daewoo Motors India was one of the first foreign car manufacturers in India to start their production in India. The company introduced car models like the Matiz and Cielo but could not survive long in the Indian market due to financial troubles at its parent company in South Korea. As a result of this, Daewoo Motors India stopped their operations in 2001. This marked the end of its brief but impactful stint in the Indian automotive sector.

"We are excited to reintroduce Daewoo's automotive batteries to India, combining our global expertise with products tailored specifically for the Indian market. Our batteries not only promise high cranking performance and optimised grid structure but also incorporate the latest in battery technology to withstand the tropical climate of India." said, H. S.  Bhatia Managing Director of DAEWOO India.

The company is making its comeback after more than two decades in a different segment of the automotive industry. They have decided to launch a range of advanced four-wheeler batteries for cars, trucks, tractors, and buses, designed specifically to meet the challenges of Indian roads and climate conditions.

The new batteries introduced by Daewoo has many special features like strong construction for durability, advanced vibration resistance, and a maintenance-free design. They also offer rapid recharge capability and reliable performance in extreme temperatures, addressing key concerns of Indian vehicle owners.

With the introduction of the new batteries Daewoo aims to build its global experience and technological prowess to meet the evolving needs of Indian consumers. As the automotive industry in India continues to grow and evolve, Daewoo's return could potentially pave the way for further innovations and investments in the sector.

Daewoo's comeback into the Indian market marks a significant shift in strategy from its previous venture as a car manufacturer. This time around the company is trying to make a strong presence by focusing on the battery which is an important component of automotive technology.
