The Tata LPK 2518 came with a CUMMINS ISBe5.9 180 40 BS6 engine which has the capacity to deliver 134 kW of power at 2500 rpm and 700 Nm of peak torque at precisely 1500 rpm. Its engine was mated to an improved 6-Speed gearbox for efficient power delivery. The engine and transmission used to be linked to each other by a single plate dry friction type clutch setup.
The LPK 2518 came equipped with a Full Air S- cam with an Automatic Adjuster braking setup for maximum stopping power. In terms of suspension, it had semi-elliptical leaf springs in the front as well as rear end for better load carrying capacity and driver comfort.
