Bridgestone India and Tata Power plan to provide Bridgestone dealerships across India with EV chargers for four-wheelers.
These chargers will be functional around the clock. Tata Power is putting in DC fast chargers with a 25/30 kWh capacity. They can charge a four-wheeler in an hour, allowing 20–24 cars to be charged every day. The first of these, which is operational for all four-wheeler EVs, was inaugurated at Bridgestone's Select Store Super Tyres in Shirur on the Pune-Ahmednagar route. The combined Bridgestone-Tata project will help India's ambitions for a nationwide network of EV charging stations, which are intended to promote a greater uptake of EVs.
"The electric revolution is altering the automotive landscape, and in India, we are seeing a spectacular surge in demand for passenger EVs," said Rajarshi Moitra, Chief Commercial Officer of Bridgestone India. As a reputable partner in the mobility industry on a worldwide scale, Bridgestone always work to offer solutions for travel. This dedication is demonstrated by the cooperative effort with Tata Power. The 24-7 operations of these EV chargers also allow EV users to charge at their convenience. This will offer a practical and sustainable transportation alternative.
