Mahindra Tractors celebrate 60 years with the launch of 'Desh Ka Tractor'

Mahindra Tractors celebrated the sale of 40 lakh tractors since 1963 with the introduction of the ‘Desh ka tractor: Mitti se Juda, Junoon se Saja’ campaign to honor the farmers of India. As part of the celebration, a tractor-themed sculpture has been made based on Mahindra’s popular ‘Yuvo tech plus’ tractor. The unique sculpture has been made from soils collected from over 4000 farms across India.

The Desh Ka tractor campaign took place at Mahindra’s Nagpur manufacturing facility. Speaking about the event Mr Vikram Wagh, CEO of Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd Farm Division acknowledge the farmer's trust and bond with Mahindra Tractors. He thanked the farmers and everyone who has contributed to Mahindra's journey of 60 years and all the milestones they have achieved over the years.

In its journey of six decades, Mahindra has done a lot of innovations which has enabled it to manufacture over 390 tractor models and develop a strong network of more than 1200 dealers across India. Due to this wide network of dealers and service centers, Mahindra has been able to provide excellent sales and service. All these factors have enabled Mahindra to increase its customer base and sell 40 lakh tractors over the years.

Mahindra's Journey over the years

The first-ever tractor was sold by Mahindra in 1963. Since then Mahindra has focused on producing innovative and revolutionary tractors. This has enabled them to cross over 1 Million unit production in 2004. Mahindra continued its exceptional performance and in the next 5 years, it achieved the title of the World’s highest-selling farm tractor manufacturer by volume. Mahindra doubled its sales and was able to achieve 2 million unit mark in 2013. The company sold another 1 million in the next 6 years and crossed the 3 million tractor production in 2019. Now in 2024, after 60 years, they have been able to sell 40 lakh tractors.
