Latest News: Ashok Leyland Launches Robust 13.5m Bus Chassis

Hey there, have you heard the news that just came in? Well, Ashok Leyland is offering an innovative 13.5m Bus Chassis in India. Read on to know more about the launch. 

Critically acclaimed and globally renowned commercial vehicle manufacturer, Ashok Leyland, launches new, innovative and robust 13.5m bus chassis at Prawaas 3.0, an event organised by the Bus & Car Operators Confederation of India (BOCI).

As for the 13.5m intercity bus chassis (4X2), it is designed to be reliable and robust thanks to the new platform which is engineered for high-speed stability. Further, the new chassis offers 20% additional passenger capacity (36 sleeper berths) when compared to the 12m intercity chassis (30 sleeper berths), a difference which will help the 13.5m intercity bus chassis (4X2) based customers to maximise profitability.

Present at the event, Mr. Sanjeev Kumar, Head-MHCV, Ashok Leyland said, “Ashok Leyland has been a pioneer in urban mobility, and staying true to this we are proud to launch at Prawaas our 13.5m bus chassis built to provide maximum space and comfort.

“This best-in-class product with cutting-edge technology offers the best Total Cost of Ownership to customers. We continue to expand our range of chassis and coach options and we continue to ‘Make in India, for the World”.

Furthermore, powered by a 248Hp engine which is believed to be the one with the highest horsepower in the segment, the bus will now deliver maximum profitability by reducing the overall trip time. Also, Ashok Leyland is offering optional air suspension with an anti-roll bar configuration for maximum safety for its occupants.

What’s more interesting is the electromagnetic retarder system which will ensure better braking performance and maximised safety and comfort of its passengers. Moreover, since comfort is the main element at play, Ashok Leyland is offering an ergonomic 3-way adjustable driver seat as well. Also, to reduce driver fatigue, a cable shift gear mechanism is offered in addition to the adjustable driver seat, which plays a major role in delivering the utmost performance. 

Nonetheless, if you are interested in the event, the third edition of Prawaas is taking place on August 5th & 6th at the Hitex Exhibition Centre, Hyderabad, and Ashok Leyland's stall number is P1.2 at the venue.
