Continental Launches CV-Based Digital Solutions In India

Latest News: Continental Tires has launched locally manufactured premium sedan and SUV tyres, made at its Modipuram plant in Uttar Pradesh along with CV-based Digital Solutions. 

Leading and globally renowned commercial and passenger vehicle tyre manufacturer, Continental Tires has launched locally manufactured premium sedan and SUV tyres of size 19 and 20-inches at its Modipuram plant in Uttar Pradesh.

The company has also launched its new-age digital solutions which are part of its Conti360 package specifically developed for commercial vehicles that integrate sensors which enable monitoring of tyres, tyre pressure and its condition while the vehicles ply on road. This technology is believed to help fleet owners to monitor the fleet remotely and in real-time, which helps them enhance profitability and productivity without major downtime. 

Continental tires recently said in a statement that the Indian passenger vehicle segment is surging in terms of sales and therefore, the demand for SUV tyres has seen an increase over the past few years, while in the commercial vehicle segment, fleet owners and operators are seeking new technology and solutions that will help them track real-time data and monitor the vehicles’ performance via a single streamlined channel to enhance fleet operations with better profitability.

Samir Gupta, Managing Director, Continental Tires India, and Head of Central Region BA PLT RE APAC said, “The step towards localising the production of 19-inch and 20-inch rim size tyres for SUVs and premium vehicles segment and the digital solutions for commercial vehicles will provide quality tyres suitable for varied Indian road conditions.” 

Kuldeep Singh, Vice President, of Manufacturing, Continental Tires, Plant Modi Puram, said, "the teams at Modipuram, in collaboration with the R&D team, have worked tirelessly to innovate and offer new solutions to fulfil the requirements of the Indian market. The initiative has increased the expertise to produce new and innovative products locally at the Modipuram plant."

Further, the newly launched tyres which are sized 19 and 20-inches are from the ContiSportContact 5 and ContiSportContact5 SUV product range according to media reports. These tyres come with supreme puncture-resistance technology, better tread design and depth as well as robust construction to enhance the ability of the tyres to withstand tough conditions. 

The tyres also are said to offer outstanding traction by reducing aquaplaning and are believed to improve safety and fuel efficiency as well.
